Exciting new korfball project

It will be a bit slow on my blog for a while, because the coming time I will focus on a book that will be used for the IKF courses. Mr. Graham Box is my English corrector. He supports me. I hope that the IKF will publish this book in autumn.
There three parts:
1. Vision of Coaching Korfball
2. Korfball skills
3. Extra topics like Korfball injuries; statistics and scouting

In between you might have noticed I am on Twitter too. I am also a bit slow there, but I find it nice to be part of what is happening in the digital korfball networks.

KORFBALL BOOK FROM TAIWAN

A Chinese version "Teaching Methods, Materials, and Assessment in Physical Education: Korfball” was published by Taiwan National Institute of Educational Resources and Research (http://english.nioerar.edu.tw/ ) in November 2009.
The author of this korfball teaching/coaching textbook is prof. Inglish Ying-Che Huang, IKF Regional Vice President for Asia. Since January 2010 you can also download the digital file of this book here

Books: training and coaching of Korfball

I wrote two Korfball books that are both translated into English:

1. Korfball made simple: ISBN 90-72323-07-6
In this book I try to give a helping hand into learning and training korfball with simple materials.
The arrangement of the trainings is focused on the basic objectives of korfball. These objectives are scoring, building up to scoring, preventing the opponent from scoring. These objectives of the game are translated into training themes. The order of the themes were deliberately chosen to enable the players to experience the learning of korfball as a logical and methodical process.

2. Korfball Concepts: ISBN 90-807931-1-6
In this book I discuss some more complex themes.
The korfbal sport is dealing with a paradox: because of its mixed character it is against the grain, different from all other sports. Maybe because of this, the sport is internationally associated mostly with clubs and schools.
On the other hand, korfball is a sport that strives to become like other topsports. Topsports are played all over the world, they involve different media and have exiting leagues, both national and international. In this aspects korfball has a lot of work to do.
This book is meant to be a contribution and help for coaches, who work on a further development of korfball as a topsport.
