Dear Ben,
just a short one.
Today we have tried the 2-on-2 Street Korfball with our orphans kids, who we train at the Orphans' House. They were of 7-12 years, and street korfball really worked!
Usually it is difficult to play a match with them, because they are very wild, with bad body coordination (also the hall is very slippery which makes it even more dangerous), and a low sense for tactics, so a normal
4-on-4 match usually ends up in a huge pile of kids on top of each other fighting for the ball, and no real korfball action taking place on the field.
On the other hand, the 2-on-2 worked, as there were less kids, so less chance for bumping into each other, and more need to co-operate, get a good position, and more need for accurate passing (which is also a weakness of them due to the bad coordination they have). And, they have enjoyed it a lot, too, and asked us to have it again next time.
So it is another use of the 2-on-2 Street Korfball.
I thought You may find it interesting that it is also good with wild, and not very good players (although they are of course lovely, and we love to work with them - an experience for life!). So thanks again for the great idea!
Ben, best regards, and all the best from Boedapest under the snow...
